Cyriaco Lopes
Cyriaco Lopes is a Brazilian-American artist whose work investigates the politics of desire through a hybrid-art practice that crosses borders and is a reflection of experience. He received a BFA and MFA from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, National School of Fine Arts and an MFA from University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He has exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, Rio de Janeiro; the Museum of Art of São Paulo (MASP), El Museo del Barrio, New York; the Centre Wallonie Bruxelles, Paris; Casa Degli Artisti, Milan, and other venues. Cyriaco has been a resident at Skowhegan, the London Project, MassMoca, and MacDowell. He lives and works in New York.
