Juan Hinojosa

Juan Hinojosa (b. New York, NY) is a mixed-media artist whose work explores the overlooked beauty of everyday life in America. Through intricate collage-drawings and large-scale hanging installations, he transforms discarded objects, such as packaging, fabric scraps, costume jewelry, and old photographs into vivid visual stories. These found materials, collected from thrift stores, sidewalks, and flea markets across the country, reflect his deep interest in consumerism, pop culture, memory, and the values embedded in what we choose to keep or throw away.

Hinojosa earned his BFA from Parsons School of Design and has been awarded artist residencies at Materials for the Arts (NY), the Vermont Studio Center (VT), and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (NY). Hinojosa's solo exhibitions include "Blonde Ambition" at Materials for the Arts in New York, "ALL MINE" at Union College in New York, and "Paradise City" at the Brattleboro Museum, Vermont. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Woodside Herald, and Open House New York. He is currently pursuing his MFA at Hunter College, where he is expected to graduate in 2026.
